Karen King

2285-King_K_0043smallKaren King is a member of Canada’s Who’s Who, and has won many awards including the International Rockie Award, African-Canadian Excellence in Media Award and is the first person to win Gemini’s Canada Award twice. She was the first black woman to produce a feature film and have a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and has been a strong advocate for diversity over the last twenty years. She is the founder of NFB’s Reel Diversity Competition, and the author of the soon to be released “The Fast Track to Hassle Free Diversity”. Karen is the Drama Executive for Canwest for da Kink in My Hair, this years winner of the CAB Best Fiction Programming Award which has just launched its second season on Global – Thursdays at 9:30pm.
